Frequently Asked Questions
-
Somatic breathwork is a body-centered practice that uses intentional breathing, awareness, and sometimes movement to help you reconnect with your body, explore your emotions, and become more aware of your nervous system.
Somatic simply means "of the body."
Rather than trying to think, analyze, or talk your way through what you're experiencing, somatic breathwork invites you to turn inward and notice what is happening within you.
Through the breath, we create space to explore sensations, emotions, and patterns with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment.
-
While traditional meditation often focuses on observing thoughts and cultivating stillness, somatic breathwork invites us to actively engage with our bodies through breath, sensation, awareness, and sometimes movement or sound.
In my sessions, I incorporate conscious connected breathwork, a continuous breathing technique that can create an opportunity for deeper emotional exploration and self-awareness.
It's not about forcing yourself to relax or trying to achieve a particular outcome. It's about learning to listen to your body and meet yourself exactly where you are.
-
Sound healing is a restorative practice that uses sound and vibration to support relaxation, mindfulness, and connection with the body.
During our sessions, I use instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other therapeutic sounds to create an immersive listening experience.
As you rest and receive the sounds, you're invited to slow down, soften your attention, and notice the sensations arising in your body.
Many people describe feeling deeply relaxed, grounded, or more connected to themselves afterward. Every experience is unique.
-
Your private session is a space created entirely around you, your intentions, and what you're experiencing in this season of life.
We begin with a conversation and grounding practices to help you arrive and feel supported. From there, I guide you through a combination of somatic awareness, intentional breathwork, and restorative sound healing.
We close with time for reflection and integration, allowing you to explore what came forward and how you might carry those insights into your everyday life.
There's nothing you need to achieve, prove, or perform. You're invited to simply come as you are.
-
Absolutely. You don't need any previous experience with breathwork, meditation, somatic practices, or sound healing.
I'll guide you through each step, explain what to expect, and offer modifications along the way.
You're always encouraged to honor your body's needs, whether that means slowing down, taking a break, adjusting your breathing, or simply resting.
This is your experience, and you always have a choice in how you participate.
-
Every experience is different, and even your own experience may vary from session to session.
You might notice physical sensations such as tingling, warmth, changes in temperature, or shifts in muscle tension. Emotions, memories, imagery, or insights may arise. You may also experience calm, spaciousness, or simply a greater awareness of your body.
Some sensations are temporary physiological responses to changes in breathing, and not necessarily signs of emotional release.
There is no right or wrong way to experience breathwork. My role is to guide you in approaching whatever arises with curiosity while honoring your comfort, boundaries, and safety.
-
Somatic breathwork can be a meaningful practice, but certain breathing techniques, particularly conscious connected breathwork, may not be appropriate for everyone.
Some medical or psychological conditions, including certain cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions, as well as pregnancy, may require modifications or mean that more intensive breathwork should be avoided.
Before our session, you'll complete an intake form so we can review any relevant considerations and determine whether the practice is appropriate for you.
Your well-being, informed consent, and sense of choice are always priorities. Gentler breathwork and restorative practices may be offered when appropriate.
-
Somatic practices can support greater body awareness, emotional regulation skills, and a more intentional relationship with stress.
When we're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected, it's common to become caught in our thoughts, trying to understand or control what we're feeling.
Somatic breathwork invites us to explore another way of relating to those experiences: through the body.
Over time, practicing nervous system awareness and learning supportive regulation tools may help you respond to life's challenges with greater presence, flexibility, and self-compassion.
Somatic breathwork is a complementary wellness practice and is not a replacement for therapy or medical treatment.
-
A single private session can be a beautiful place to begin. It offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience somatic breathwork and sound healing in a supportive space.
And while one session can feel meaningful, developing a deeper relationship with your body, emotions, and nervous system is often an ongoing practice.
With continued sessions, we have the opportunity to revisit patterns, build familiarity with regulation tools, deepen self-awareness, and integrate what you're learning into everyday life.
There's no rush or expectation to commit to more. We can explore what feels supportive for you.
-
If you're feeling called to explore beyond a single experience, I created HELD | Return to You, an intimate 8-week, one-on-one somatic journey.
HELD is for those who are ready to build a deeper relationship with themselves, explore familiar patterns, expand their capacity to meet life's challenges, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and authentic.
Through a combination of somatic practices, conscious connected breathwork, nervous system education, sound healing, and integration, we create space for awareness, exploration, and embodiment over time.
Because this work isn't just about what happens during a session. It's about how you begin to meet yourself and move through your life outside of it.
